RICK SAUCEDO:
Rick Saucedo began his singing career in 1972 at the age of seventeen. At this time he and his band, “The Ambassadors” worked nightly at many local clubs and lounges. As people began to take notice of this young, talented “Elvis impersonator” he was approached by larger venues. In 1977 Rick performed at the Cabaret in Winnipeg, Canada. From there he was asked to star in the Broadway play, “The Legend Lives On” in 1978. He performed six nights a week for five months, never using a stand-in. He helped arrange the music for the title song, “The Legend Lives On”. Elvis’ background vocal group, the Jordanaires accompanied Rick in the play as well as D.J. Fontana, Elvis’ drummer. In 1979 Rick played the Stardust in Las Vegas, again accompanied by The Jordanaires and D. J. Fontana.

In 1998 Rick performed as a solo act at the Alahambra Theatre in Aruba. He played nightly to a full house for a month. Upon his return to the states, Rick began performing with backing tracks. Not only does Rick enjoy performing to his own customized tracks, but most venues prefer this type of show as well. Rick’s audience appreciates the close interaction that performing with tracks allows, as well as the impeccable accuracy, authenticity, and professionalism that comes with Rick's backing track production. For larger venues and festivals, Rick performs with a live band.
Going back to Junior High School, music came naturally to Rick in many forms. As well as singing, Rick has mastered guitar, bass, keyboards, drum, sitar and more. This talent led him to songwriting. His greatest writing influence came from The Beatles. To date he has written and released almost fifty songs ranging from rock, country, gospel, love songs, tribute songs, Christmas and even psychedelic. His 1978 album, “Heaven Was Blue”, a surreal, psychedelic masterpiece is collected worldwide and is sought after by collectors. In 2008 an original copy of Heaven Was Blue sold for $1,500.00. In 1998 Rick produced the “Memphis I’m Coming Home” CD with the original Jordanaires singing background and giving the songs the heavy, authentic Elvis feel. This CD is now in its’ second printing.
Recording original music as well as his favorite cover tunes keeps Rick busy recording on a regular basis. Realizing there are many fans who still remember the early days when Rick performed with The Ambassadors, he has recorded many songs with The Ambassadors.
Fans have always enjoyed the balance between Rick’s impeccable Elvis style as well as his own original talent he incorporates into his shows. Rick’s creativity flows no matter what type of show he is performing. He has pioneered effects such his smoke-filled American Trilogy rendition; copied by acts local, national, and worldwide; as well as in television and movies. He has also been the first to direct and perform elaborate Halloween shows centered around his and the music of others. Rick has also taken the painstakingly produced 1978 Broadway play he starred in and had converted the whole show into a surreal backing track version that was an enormous success in 2001.

In addition to music, Rick is no stranger to Hollywood. He has acted in the 1989 film Elvis Stories written and directed by Ben Stiller and starring John Cusack and Mike Myers. Another special calling came in 2002, when Rick sang the National Anthem for the Chicago White Sox.
His creative talents have not gone unnoticed. He was voted “Best Male Entertainer” in the reader’s poll of the Suburban Nitelife Magazine in 2001. In 2003 he was awarded “Best Solo Performer”, by the readers of the Suburban Nitelife Magazine. Rick was again voted “Best Solo Performer” by Suburban Nitelife Magazine in 2006, 2007, and 2008. In 2008 Rick was nominated and won the "Best Solo Performer" as well as earned another nomination for the "Best Lounge Act" in the Suburban Nitelife Magazine Poll.
After viewing Rick on YouTube, Sweden's foremost Rockabilly Band, The Sun Cats invited Rick to perform with them. In March 2009 he broke the attendance record at the venue in Umea, Sweden and filled the house in Lulea, Sweden.
In January 2008 Rick's official MySpace was created and since received nearly 30,000 hits and the numbers increase by the hundreds each week. In March 2009 Heartbeat Radio, an online radio station devoted to the singing and songwriting career of Rick Saucedo - launched - giving his fans an in depth look at the driving force behind Rick's music.
In September of 2009, The Fan's Choice Project was conducted and many of Rick's fans voted for their favorite original songs from Rick. With 30+ years of music written, fans had almost 50 songs to choose from. The voting ended and the project culminated with the recording of Rick's first career-spanning album - which featured the songs that were voted in by the fans. It spans his original music from 1978 through 2009. The Once Again: The Greatest Hits album was released in October 2009 and represents the gifted talent for original music that Rick has.
When not performing one of his 100+ shows a year for clubs, private parties, theatres and festivals, Rick stays busy writing, recording, and relaxing when he has a chance.

THE BANDS:
Since 1972, Rick's musical profession has been guided and driven by live bands. Starting out with The Ambassadors back in 1972, Rick, Danny, Joey, Jimmy, Ronnie, and Mike rocked and rolled their way through the '70s and '80s. Rick left the band in the early '80s, but would soon rejoin them in the '90s. Many Ambassadors have come and gone, but Rick still plays with most of the originals on his original albums and reunion shows every now and then. Rick joined the band Redwing in 1981 and lent his lead vocals and guitar skills to this rock band. Firing out one rockin' cover after another of Lennon, McCartney, Clapton, Badfinger, and more - this band fueled its way onto radio and on stages all throughout the country, also bringing the long-haired, bearded Saucedo on stage with new original material. The band broke up in the mid '80s and Rick moved on bouncing from band to band. By the '90s, Rick began playing with what has since become known as the most successful Elvis Tribute band - The Expense Account (now called EAS). From the '90s to present day, Rick plays on and off with this incredible band at fests, theatres and more. Later in the '90s, Rick began playing once again with another new band - Revival - but that didn't last long. In 2005, Rick selected as his official band of choice the Change of Habit, a then-new and upcoming band that branched off of EAS. Rick rocked and rolled once again with this new, energetic band from fest to fest and has performed dozens of shows with them from 2005 through 2008. Since 2008, Rick has no official band. Depending on what a show calls for or who's available, Rick may perform with EAS, Change of Habit, or The Ambassadors.
